We would like to welcome you and your child to Alva Scout Group.

1st Alva Scouts were established in 1912 and the current hall was built in 1974 after extensive fundraising. The hall is located in the Johnstone Park

As a leadership team we offer challenge and adventure to all our members. We believe in helping our young people fulfil their potential by working in teams, learning by doing and thinking for themselves. We are working to make Scouting available to all and we are passionate about what we do The Group offers an active programme for boys and girls 6 years and upwards in the following Sections: Beavers, Cubs & Scouts.

Our Sections | Join the Adventure

Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family and are for boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years old.

The Beavers are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends and having fun!

Our Beaver Colony meets on Monday night from 6.15 – 7.15 pm.

Cub Scouts are the second section of the Scouting movement. Cub Scouts are boys and girls aged between 8 and 10½ years, who like challenge and adventure.

Challenge and adventure is the focus for Cubs and include a range of exciting indoor and outdoor activities, games, crafts, cooking, visits and outings and of course, camping.

Our Cub Pack meets on Wednesday night from 7.15 – 8.30 pm.

Scouts are for boys and girls aged between 10½ and 14 years who want to make friends and develop their widening interests in ways that are both fun and educational.

Scout activities are about action and involvement and include camping, cooking, film making, hiking, pioneering, electronics – the list is endless.

Our Scout Troop meets on Friday night from 7.30 – 9.00 pm.
